Meet Lauren

First Aid & Health and Safety Trainer

Based in Edinburgh, With a strong background in both leisure and outdoor environments, I bring a wealth of experience and passion to my role as a First Aid and Health and Safety Trainer. My career began in the fitness industry, where I worked as a Leisure Attendant, Fitness Instructor, Swimming Teacher, and Leisure Centre Manager. These roles gave me a deep understanding of the importance of safety in active environments, while also building my skills in risk management, emergency response, and ensuring the well-being of individuals across all ages and fitness levels.

As a Leisure Centre Manager, I further developed my expertise in health and safety protocols, overseeing staff training, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing the day-to-day safety of the facility. This role required me to respond quickly and effectively to incidents and accidents, ensuring that everyone in the centre remained safe and well-cared for.

In addition to my career in leisure and fitness, I have an outdoor background, where I gained practical experience in managing safety in an agricultural setting and working with equipment and machinery. This experience has instilled in me a strong appreciation for the outdoors and an understanding of the unique safety challenges in rural environments.

With my diverse experience, I am passionate about educating others on how to prevent accidents, respond effectively in emergencies, and create safer environments, whether in the workplace, the gym, or the great outdoors.

  • We are aiming to be a sustainable as we can and create as little waste as we can, because of this, we have chosen to send all certificates as PDF documents via email. This mean participants will receive certificates quicker too!

  • All courses are checked for quality purposes and this can take some time. Please allow 3 working days for this. If you need the certificate quicker, please let us know and we will aim to get it to you as soon as we can.

  • We have different price tiers to suit different organisations. We are aware some smaller organisations only require one or two people on the course. We can take up to 12 people on any of our courses. We suggest it is a good idea if organisations buddy up and share a course. We can even split the payment for you with different invoices to make it easier - just let us know when booking.

  • During some of the courses, such as First Aid and Fire, there are some elements of the course which are practically assessed. This is to ensure that all Participants leave the course with both the knowledge and the confidence. In order to pass the course, every Participants must also pass the practical element.

  • There will be a multiple choice question paper at the end of every course or if the course is on multiple days, there will be one at the end of every day. If you require assistance in taking the assessment, the trainer will be there to help. Translators and Scribes are also available if we are aware of this during booking.
